Globe Hyperspeed – the Fastest Internet Connection in the Philippines?

Imagine…

A 100-megabyte per second Internet connection…

A disposable income of more than 14,995 per month…

Living in Forbes Park Makati…

If you fulfill the three conditions listed above, then congratulations! You may avail of the fastest Internet connection in the country. Globe’s hyperspeed 100 mbps plan costs P14,995 a month and is currently only available in Forbes Park, Makati. It uses a GPON fiber-to-the-home technology (whatever that means).

100 mbps seems unfathomable to us common folk who can’t even get a reliable 512 kbps internet connection. Supposedly a 100 mbps connection will allow you to download a 700mb movie in less than 2 minutes.

Credit has to be given to Globe despite their super exclusive 100mbps offer. Hopefully someday a 100mbps connection will become the norm. In the United States, the Federal Trade Commission and Google is actually spearheading the effort to deliver 100mbps to as many homes as possible. What’s surprising is that the United States is supposedly lagging behind. 100mbps connections are already common in some Asian and European countries.
