Have you ever noticed the small letters printed at the back of public utility vehicles? If you don't look closely, you'll think it has something to do with gross weight, capacity, or whatever. Strain your eyes just a little bit to see... hotline numbers! Also accessible via text messaging.
Amazing.
Direct access to, not only the operators of these public utility vehicles, but to the government agency tasked with the duty of monitoring public transport. Whenever you find yourself driving along a busy highway, excited to get home from a busy day's work, and a passenger bus suddenly cuts you honking its horn like you were the one out of line... who ya gonna call??
To be able to bring complaints to the government in comfort of your own vehicle has got to be the best use of cellular phones to date. This is what innovations in communications technology should be striving for.
I myself have already taken advantage of these hotline numbers. Thrice, actually. All of them were buses who were driving like maniacs along Commonwealth Avenue. I took out my phone, typed in my complaint, and sent it to LTFRB. When the words MESSAGE SENT appeared, i put away my phone and laughed a sinister laugh. That was about a month or two ago. Right now, those bus drivers are probably under investigation, or better yet, unemployed! If only i could have seen their faces when they found out that a text message had sealed their fate.
Thank you for your vigilance, LTFRB.
