Technology Goes Green

Because development has been the main reason for environmental degradation, it's about time that scientists and inventors start using their knowledge to save the world, and for consumers to take notice.

Below are a few devices i found online.

1. Size-Changing Rechargeable Batteries - These batteries can change from size AA to F and are very handy especially with so many remote controls, camera tools, and so on. The downside is the effort of putting them in and taking them out when switching devices. But isn't that a small price to pay for less waste?
2. Power Harvesting Battery Pack - This device catches WiFi rays and turns it into power, which is very handy since WiFi is now everywhere.

3. Solar Charger - With global warming, it's but logical for people to come up with ways to use this free and constant resource. This would save the earth from more fossil fuels going into the atmosphere as it would lessen the demand for electricity.

These are only a few examples of a growing trend in technology. Of course, the challenge is in making green technology not only a luxury, but as an attainable priority. As a developing country, there are far more urgent problems that poverty brings. It is hard to invest in technology when millions of people go hungry everyday. However, we must also understand that one of the reasons why we are poor is because of our abused and misused environment.
