3D Cellphones

And so the 3D trend continues… It has been prevalent in most movies that have been shown this year, with Avatar being the most notable 3D movie to date. TV coverage of the Presidential inauguration last June 30 has also been done by GMA. Hologram telecasts have also been initiated. Even more recently, Hong Kong proudly announced that it is currently preparing to release the first 3D pornographic film. Now a new outlet for the 3D market is currently emerging – 3D cellphones.

Looking to pioneer this movement are Intel and Nokia, who have collaborated to provide for 3D mobile devices. The Intel and Nokia Joint Innovation Center plan to spend three years collaborating on the concept of generating a 3D mobile phone.

It plans to focus on the Internet aspect of the mobile phone, allowing users to experience the "rapidly increasing processing and graphics power of mobile devices." It also plans to change the phone’s interface and make it 3D as well.

It would indeed be interesting how this develops, particularly on how video conferencing or 3G communication might be changed with the possibility of owning 3D mobile phones.
