On with the encroachment of Facebook in TelCo territory. Facebook has recently bought Beluga which will provide mobile group messaging to Facebook users. Beluga is a free mobile phone application which will enable constant communication between members of a group of friends or family.
The features of Beluga which used to be an independent application will be rolled into the features of Facebook and the former is expected to take advantage of the huge user base of the latter. The new application is downloadable for free. It was developed by three former Google employees Ben Davenport, Lucy Zhang and Jonathan Perlow.
Here it is. Facebook is certainly leveling up. The TelCo territory is the major target. Filipinos are not far from the effects of this thrust because we are among the top five users of Facebook. I can sense further developments. Let’s wait for Facebook v. TelCos 3 and so forth. Let's keep posted. ☺
