(#11) Green

The Iloilo City Hall will be the country’s first environmentally friendly government building. The P630M budget for its construction to be completed on August this year is seen as a wise investment for the following reasons:

1. The Solar Powered Airconditioning System will lessen the city hall’s electricity fees in the long run.
2. The Rooftop Garden will help keep the building cool to minimize the need for energy to power the airconditioners.
3. The Rain Harvesting Area will supply water to the building’s bathrooms, garden and for other purposes.

I think it's cool. This is a good example of using state-of-the-art technology to help the environment, and the steep price to be paid for such policy.
