FAKE

What would you rather have---A fake designer piece of clothing or a cheap original? Generally, I’d rather have the cheap original. The only exception is if I really like the design of the knock-off.

When I was younger, Playstation games were pirated to the hilt. Just have your unit “converted” at Greenhills and you’re good to go. Your “converted” unit will be able to read pirated games. Back then, pirated games were sold at 30 bucks a pop while the originals were over a thousand each. Pirated was the way to go. It was a no brainer.

When Playstation 3 was released, it was pirate proof. Only recently was a program developed to allow the user to download games from the internet and play it without a CD---the console allows you to install games but you’ll still have to put the original CD inside in order to play it. It took years, five, if I’m not mistaken, for that “jailbreak” software to be developed. By then, gamers are already used to buying the games that not everyone switched to the jailbreak option. Some say it’s just right to give the developers their due. Not only is this the lawful thing to do, it is also the right thing to do.

On another note, just as there fake CDs, there are also fake people. It’s the USC election season again here in UP. People should vote wisely. Know your candidate. Read beyond their printed achievements and try to see if that person really deserves your vote.
