A brother, who recently returned from a two-month excursion all over Europe, and after distributing all his pasalubongs, just revealed that he still had some surprises for his (older) sisters stashed somewhere in his room. He had intended to give them as Christmas gifts, but since one sister was so nosy, he was forced to divulge, and more importantly, make the distribution of gifts in the immediate future. However, since another sister was not present at the big revelation, the brother decided to put off the distribution until Saturday.

So what’s this particular sister to do? Wait patiently? Poke around his room while the little brother is away? Definitely not. She immediately went online to see which of the many, many, many products available in Europe was soon to be hers.

Fortunately, she knew which brand to look for. Unfortunately, the brand carried over a couple hundred of styles. Just like a kid entering a candy store, upon the first 10 minutes of browsing through the website/online store, this sister easily picked out more than 10 items she wanted, and was already picturing herself using each one. Even if she already had a pretty good idea of what her younger brother bought her, she still imagined herself walking around with the Rival tote in plum, or the Roseau hobo in gold, or the Culte handbag in black and white. Fingers tightly crossed and heart pounding, she silently wished that somehow, all these bags would find theirselves in her brother’s luggage, with her name on them.

It cannot be denied. There’s much excitement caused by just a few minutes in a virtual store.

Maybe, the same way most guys are easily absorbed into a world of video games killing zombies and playing with Kobe Bryant, most girls (and guys) are as easily absorbed in a similar virtual world: the wonderful, wonderful world of online shopping.
