Back to the Future

by Mona Barro (3rd entry)

We are The Jetson’s.

They called it televiewing. We call it Skyping.

Anywhere on the planet, from an airplane a thousand feet up in the air to a submarine a hundred feet deep under water, people can now communicate with each other over the internet. In particular, musicians and music lovers have found a new medium to learn from each other and to share music with one another, as they now use Skype to conduct music lessons and jamming sessions.

Yesteryear’s dream is today’s reality, thanks to the genius of Skype creator Niklas Zennström.

2009 Word of the Year of Oxford Dictionary is "unfriend"

It's just funny how prevalent facebook can be because "unfriending" someone means a lot in facebook. You acknowledge that that person does not exist (in the internet sense) to you and you refuse to be connected in any way with that person. The other popular word is "hashtag" wherein twitter users are quite familiar with.

It's just funny how words are now created because they become so popular in use in the internet.

Imbento kaya tayo ng e-word :)
