e-mail v bird mail!

traditional means of sending mail has been renamed as "snail mail" after the advent of internet based e-mail. undoubtedly, sending mail or any kind of information through the web takes less time then sending packages or letters through the post-office. that much is true at least in this country.

in parts of south africa however, people have been complaining about how slow their internet connections are. in fact, they mae a mockery out of the technology provider by pitting winston, an 11 month old pigeon against telkom, the biggest web firm in Durban, to determine which way is faster in sending 4GB worth of info to a destination 60 miles away.

a memory stick was tied to winston and it took the bird one hour and 8 mins to fly. and it took another hour to transfer the info to a computer. by the time this whole process finished, the email download was only at 4%.

Hahaha! But you can't rely on bird mail when it's raining. Hah!
