Here's Rooting for You, Kid

Before Justin Bieber became world-famous for his golden locks … before Charice Pempengco made it big in Hollywood … beforeMaria Aragon was invited to perform alongside her idol Lady Gaga … they were just ordinary young kids who wanted to share their talent with the rest of the world. Who would have thought that their lives would change overnight the minute they uploaded their videos in Youtube. And now, thanks yet again to Youtube, we just might have another Youtube star to add to their ranks. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Arjohn Gilbert.

Arjohn Gilbert was just an Aeta street kid selling flutes in Clark, Pampanga when his singing prowess was discovered by ryaneski, the youtube uploader. Recognizing the undeniable talent of this charming young man with his incandescent personality, ryaneski didn’t think twice about whipping out his camera phone and capturing Arjohn’s talent on video.

As of press time, his video has had 1, 097, 376 views with 25,472 likes. In fact, his video was even featured in none other than Ryan Seacrest’s website. Not bad for a street kid whose only dream in life was to sell enough flutes to buy rice for his family. Hopefully, this exposure could open doors and opportunities for Arjohn, be it in the Philippines or in the international arena.
