I know your first reaction was "what??"
Who would have imagined that the co-founder of the mega-brand Apple, the person who resurrected it from near-bankruptcy in 1997, the person who became the number one innovator in the hi-tech market, would be stepping down from his post as CEO?
His quotes are being posted over Facebook and over the net right now in such frequency you would think he had died.
It was revealed that he was resigning to "focus on his health" because he had been diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer several years ago. It's really unfortunate, but at least, unlike other normal wage-earning people, he has the power to make a cure happen - to fund research for a cure that would save him as well as other people suffering from the same disease.. that's because despite the fact that he's earning only $1 from Apple as salary, he has $2.1 Billion in Apple shares and about $4.4 billion in Disney shares. That's a lot of money. That's probably nearly the whole Philippine budget for a year.
The genius behind the iPod, the iPad, the iPhone and whatever i's there are as well as other great products has stepped down and been replaced by the one he had been grooming to take his place and I'm pretty sure all you Apple fans are biting your nails right now considering that the 5th-generation iPhone is just about to be released, hopefully to your taste. As for me, I hope he does find the cure to pancreatic cancer, for him and for others suffering the same disease. Prayers for Steve Jobs and other cancer victims.
