No one has the monopoly of suffering. We had our share when the deluge that was Ondoy hit the Philippines. Now, it’s Haiti’s turn. And they need our help.
Both Law and Technology are areas that are conducive for tenuous debates. Policy issues are meant to be discussed, scrutinized, theorized, problematized. But I think that this entire endeavor would collapse if we remain tied to the cudgels of scholarly abstractions. Law and technology are useless if they ultimately fail to make our lives a little bit better.
This is the time to help those in Haiti to make their lives a little bit better. The beauty of technology is that it erases our excuse of not being able to help because we are simply too far away. It removes our excuse for ignorance because there aren’t too many resources.
I have scoured the Internet for some websites to keep us informed of what has been happening in Haiti, and how we can help:
1. The Big Picture
2. Aidwatchers
3. The Daily Beast
4. CNN Tech
5. The New York Times
