Poupee!

Little girls play with paperdolls and when little girls grow up they play with designer bags or outfit.
But some girls when they grow up…still play with both!

Poupee is French for doll and Poupee girl is a Japanese Social Network Service, I got invited by a friend from Germany, you create your "doll" or avatar by choosing her Poupeeparts - hairstyle, eyes, face and mouth, hair color, eye color, and skin tone then you can dress her up using kawaii dress up items. You can get dress up items when you post your clothes/shoes/make-up/fashion accessories - like your own virtual closet! - or when you buy them from Katharine's shop or Celebrity shop where the clothes are in collaboration with artists or brands (think Japanese pop singers or famous brands like Coach).

Here is a clip of my virtual closet in Poupeegirl:

Poupee currencies are Ribbons and Jewels. You can get Ribbons (free currency) when you post pictures of your clothes and if the brand is one of the brands listed in poupee directory, you'll get more ribbons than for other items; also when you're in the top Suteki ranking. What is a Suteki? When you think the item posted by a Poupee friend is cool or cute or pretty, you click the Suteki button and this will add to her Sutekis and help with her Suteki ranking. Jewels are bought with real cash and there are items you can't purchase with Ribbons. It’s highly addictive and is very popular with Japanese women who are very brand conscious. Plus you get style tips from poupee friends around the globe!

Sorry for editing this a bit late :D so for the relevance..we were talking in class how buyers are hesitant in purchasing online because of their apprehensions about security. Well this site is SO SECURED it's somewhat annoying for the users! This game site has never been hacked before, and almost every online game can be hacked nowadays, and you can't even use the refresh button to undo a mistake you made two (2) seconds ago! I really don't hesitate buying their currency because I know I'll be getting what I paid for in a matter of seconds and if you try to zoom in even a thousand times you'll see how detailed their pixels are. Pixels are just pixels how do you convince a million users to buy them? I would definitely say this caliber of security is an added inducement, and our poupee community (yes we have one) is in concurrence with this thought. Should there be problems relating to Jewel purchase, you just have to email them and within a few minutes you'll get your reply, except that it's in Japanese so you'll have to have it translated using an online translator or ask someone from the community to translate it for you.
