Dropboxit

I never knew that there’s such a thing as a cloud computing device until I found out about Dropbox which is a web based file hosting service. Dropbox allows you to synchronize your files online and across your computers automatically; to share files or folders with anyone in the world with just a few clicks by storing your files in a shared folder and sending invites to your friends’ email to allow them access; with automatic backup of your files and an undo delete history of 30 days for free users and unlimited undo as a paid option. Just by registering you get 2GB of storage space and the best feature of Dropbox? Security! All transmissions of file data and metadata (whatever that is) occurs over an encrypted channel and their servers are encrypted, in other words as another blog site has reported, your data is as safe as the algorithms used by banks and the military and I’d say that’s pretty safe considering we are talking about US military security. This service would really come in handy if you need to send highly sensitive files to someone in another country or a far away place. I think that this kind of service would be really useful with depositions, if you need the testimony of a witness who has for example already left the country and the content of the testimony is highly sensitive or if the lawyer is concerned with the security of the transfer of the testimony from the location of the witness to the location of the lawyer.
