Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines goes online

Well, if there's anything good that came out of the appointment of three Cabinet members into the Presidential Communications Group, it probably might be the unveiling of the online version of the Official Gazette of the Republic.

This is completely different from the not-so-nicely-designed Philippine Information Office website, and it has very presidential and dignified feel and look. It certainly deserves to be visited by all, especially those wanting to know more about the reforms sought to be undertaken by the Aquino government.

Attached here is the GMAnews.tv article on the launching of the site.

The website is a joke. A high school graduate can do better in a span of seven days. This was a stop gap to remedy the lack of a presidential website and address the numerous complaints regarding the same. Actually looking forward to what the three-man communications group can come up with after it finalizes everything. Considering that Carandang and Quezon are bloggers who presumably know a modicum of online architecture and design, the current look, function and feel can't possibly be the end-product. And on another note, having an inept site with such a great URL would be a waste.
