Everyone has access to the internet. Almost everyone can use it. I wanted to pose a challenge to the current system. Is it possible to let the blind use it? I wondered if braille can be incorporated with the the output or if it is possible to allow output in 3D.
I searched the Internet for possibilities. It appears that in http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/blind, that they let you experience navigating the mouse using audio instructions. In http://www.webcredible.co.uk/user-friendly-resources/web-accessibility/disabled-users-access-internet.shtml mentions of screen readers that read the contents of the web page. So many others have made it possible it seems. I find it amazing that discrimination in internet use is actually not as bad as I thought.
In my quick search, the most interesting article I found was in http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1365/is_3_32/ai_78629416. Someone has incorporated braille to the PC. Technology never ceases to amaze me.
