Here we go again...

Music is made in order for other people to enjoy. But why are the musicians so uptight with the distribution of their material? It’s because they need to get paid for their talents so they jack up the prices of their albums. Although it is understandable, they should open their eyes and realize that technology has negated the traditional form of the music business. People are no longer as eager to buy albums since they can download it for free on the Internet. Piracy is prevalent because the cost of purchasing their material is expensive.

Hence, to solve this problem, I suggest that musicians adopt radical means to change their livelihoods. My proposal is that musicians should do away with traditional record sales and freely distribute their material on the Internet. Instead of cashing in on record sales, they should solely focus on ticket sales of their live performances.

Thus, musicians will still receive adequate compensation while at the same time, the general population will still be able to get free music off the internet.
