"Traffic jam, when you're already late...It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife...it's like rain on your wedding day...it's a free ride when you're already there..."-Alanis Morrisette
I spoke too soon when I said that Bayantel DSL is better than PLDT DSL.
We just had two months of efficient use of Bayan DSL after which we have had to call technical support every week.
Now, the modem and cables are stuck in a shelf gathering dust and we're paying for service we don't enjoy.
Mental note: once midterms are over, I will have Bayantel disconnected, bond or no bond.
So, yesterday, I went to the college to get a whiff of some wifi. I tried to go online at the library, to the student lounge and at Law 200, to no avail.
After classes were called off because of ACLE, my son and I head to Starbucks Katipunan for merienda. But when the first Globe card turned out "spoiled" and the second one only yielded "Try again" after ten tries, we just got a refund of the Globe card.
Back at Law, I tried to connect at Law 203 again but still no luck.
When the professor didn't arrive, my daughter and I went to UP-ALI Technohub.
My daughter got her frappuccino fix but I was told that particular Starbucks no wifi.
Big businesses rake in big bucks for service they don't really provide.
